Small business owners: We see you. We acknowledge you. We celebrate you.

Our team at TrueLark wants to celebrate all the small business owners out there not only on Small Business Saturday but every day. Our employees have owned spas, fitness studios, and salons before coming to work at TrueLark. Running a small business was the most rewarding and challenging thing we’ve ever experienced. 

You have a “why” behind what drives you to put in the effort each and every day. Here is our “why”. 

Meet Jean

Owning a Yoga Studio was all-encompassing. It was a passion project for me. You eat, sleep and breath it. I loved it. Being able to work with people to celebrate the ability to move your body or have fun in class. Share that passion, offering back to the community what I am able to. 

I have been able to bring insights from my own experience as a small business owner to my work here at TrueLark. Acknowledging the responsibility all owners take on when they open their doors. As a small business owner you can’t prepare for everything, remember to use your resources. Use your tools, staff, community, etc.

Meet Jenell

I have never given so much of myself to any one thing in my life as I did to our Fitness Studio. It was truly an accumulation of my heart, soul, dreams, mistakes, and accomplishments. It was lonely. It was hard. It was selfless. The business was an extension of my heart and soul. It took everything I had to give.

After leaving my business behind, I came in with the mission to improve the software and tools that small business owners have access to. Tools that could truly be life-changing for all the other business owners that are struggling, overwhelmed and depleted. How could I help make the struggles and challenges of owning a wellness business just a little easier? I was driven by the desire to use my experiences to make a bigger impact on a larger platform.

I wanted the ability to make a difference. Help build technology that could lead to one less gray hair, one more hour of sleep, one less meltdown, one more minute spent with family, one moment to breathe, one minute of self-care for the small business owner. It matters. Every hurdle. Every extra click. Every missing tool. Every workaround. Every minute on hold waiting for support. Those minutes add up.

Running a small business can be lonely, rewarding, exciting, scary, frustrating, magical, and sometimes downright awful. It takes grit, resilience, and every ounce of gusto to make it happen. It’s not for the faint of heart.  

Remember you’re not alone. Even when it doesn’t feel like it, your efforts matter.

Meet Lisa

In the beginning, opening a spa was overwhelming. In a franchise, a lot of the work is already done for you. Business processes, marketing, and branding are well defined. Even with all the support from the franchise, it was still incredibly overwhelming. I had a goal of building a more flexible lifestyle. It took a lot of years of hard work and learned lessons to find our stride. 

I don’t think I would be at FrontdeslAI if I didn’t own my own business. From that experience, I have a deeper understanding and appreciation of our customers and what they are going through. For me personally, my role in Customer Support is a great fit because I am able to help our customers that are in the same position as I am. I’m driven by the ability to share recommendations and business practices from my own experience to help fellow business owners thrive.

I don’t think there is any business that is successful without a lot of grit and determination from the business owner.
